Biology is life! Kean Hean’s passion in research drives him forward no matter what difficulties he faces. His happy-go-lucky personality always brings light and hope when someone encounters obstacles in the lab. His willingness to lead is an invaluable asset to the team. Besides, Kean Hean is also the one who designed our awesome wiki page.

Biological Science, Junior
Jing Yen’s love for biology is fully demonstrated by her dedication in the lab. She is hardworking and meticulous about details. She is also very willing to extend her helping hand to anyone in need. Her easygoing personality makes the teamwork an enjoyable experience for all of us.

Liu Zhehui

Biological Science, Senior
Zhehui has vast experience in biological experiments and solid foundations of the concepts. Besides, he's passion for photography allowed us to have some awesome photos. He is also very helpful when anyone needs help. He's favourite quote:"This is crap!"

Li Fanxiang

Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Junior

Fanxiang is a self-motivated person who are willing to challenge himself with new tasks. Though being new to biology, Fanxiang takes no hesitation to pick up new knowledge bit by bit and learn the new experimental techniques. Fanxiang is also the artist who designed the graphics on our wiki.

Mu huanwen

Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Senior

Huanwen is very passionate in doing research. Though being relatively new to synthetic biology, Huanwen constantly improves herself by learning new concepts and techniques from other members and our mentors. Being an optimistic person, she always brings joy to the lab that lit up the atmosphere.

Zhang Junyi

Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Senior

Junyi’s goal to become a medical doctor drives her to look for new and innovative cures for diseases. That also becomes the reason why she joined the team and researched into this area. She truly hopes that one day, CRISPR/Cas9 can be used to cure diseases such as cancer.

Shaun Lim

Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Graduated

Being the oldest member of the team, Shaun provide insightful advice to the team when we are facing hard choices. His interest for research has also brought him to undertake his postgraduate studies in nanotechnology.

Wong Ming Jie

Computer Science, Graduated

Ming Jie is our calculator. He's responsible for our computational modelling. He has a motto of 'Sic Parvis Magna' that paralles with molecular biology. In his free time, he loves hiking snow mountains, just like what his motto says.

Bui Thuy Thien

Bioengineering, Senior

Thuy Thien is a very good "detective", she knows the profile of all of use. Being interested in computational biology, Thuy Thien starts with understanding the concepts involved in Biology by joining iGEM!

Jenndy

Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Senior

Jenndy is an easy going guy new to biology. However, his interest to learn makes him a valuable asset to our team. His internship experience makes him well acquainted with lab protocol.

Norfala-Aliah Binte Sutrisnoh

Biological Science, Graduated
Fala is a kind and easy-going girl. In the lab, her attention to details builds a solid foundation to our promising results. She is hard-working and willing to help with other member's lab work.

Teo Hwee ting

Biological Science, Graduated
Hwee Ting is a tall girl physically, similar to her passion for Biology. Although she has graduated recently, she is still actively participating in our experiments and provides help when needed.

Advisors

Asst. Prof Tan Meng How

Prof is a smart guy and he likes smart guys. He holds a spectrum of degrees from Economics (Berkeley) to Aeronautics (Caltech) to Biology (Stanford), making him literally a walking encyclopaedia. Also he usually replies messages so early in the morning that we ponder if he lives in California Time Zone.

Dr. yuan ming

Yuan Ming speaks very softly but his words carries weight! He's a very patient mentor and is very helpful to provide help when needed.

Liu Kaiwen Ivy

Ivy is very very very hardworking. She teaches us experiments even under her hectic schedule. She is also very kind when prof asks her to buy us ice-cream. :)

Dr. Teh Min Yan

Min Yan is a very kind mentor and gets into the details of every experiments. We sometimes made her angry when we did not arrange back lab equipments properly. So, we were good boys and girls to prevent Min Yan from bursting up. :P
