LAB:
Morning:
- Made TSS buffer
- Grew cells to OD600 of 0.34 (please double-check the hard-copy)
Afternoon:
- Made aliquotes of chemically competent cells
- Created small nickel plasmids
Administrative:
- Provided feedback on CSM presentation
- Obtained freezer space.
- Labelled drawers and files (protocols and MSDS)
- Weekly inventory completed
- E-mailed GE Healthcare Life Science regarding HiTrap Heparin column protocol, their response were as follows:
Hi Zarifah,
The column can be operated with a syringe, peristaltic pump or a chromatography system. It is much easier to control the flow rate, running and maximum with either a peristaltic pump or a chromatography system. If one is careful a syringe can work fine.
