− |
| + |
Hello~ Let me introduce myself first. I am the mascot of iGEM USTC TEAM, who designed me out of what they are researching--yeast prion. As you can see, my body is just what the structure of yeast prion looks like. Meanwhile, they gave me a name, Super Nemo, which I am quite fond of. Now you can keep on your pace to get it clear what we have done this year!
Although we focus on one kind of prion this year, there is no need for any panic in that yeast prion is totally human-friendly which has been verified. As one kind of yeast prion, Sup35 can aggregate at a certain temperature range which is around 37℃~42℃, and protein denaturant Guanidine Hydrochloride (GdnHCL) can eliminate the aggregation. Based on the properties, we designed two circuits--Propri-ontein and Pro Priontein, which were built respectively in accordance with Yeast two-hybrid system and GFP splitting and protein detection technique.
