I have always liked doing experiments in a lab, and iGEM has allowed me to work with much more advanced equipment than I would have ever encountered in high school. I didn’t really know much about synthetic biology before joining iGEM, but the experiments I have performed have allowed me to achieve a much greater understanding of the subject. My interest in synthetic biology grew when I learned more about mathematical modelling and how we can apply it to synthetic biology. From iGEM, I hope to gain a lot of lab experience that would be useful in the future if I ever decide on a science-related career. I also hope that it will be a great opportunity to meet new people from all across the world with similar interests.</p>
