As developers of a cancer diagnostic tool, our team became interested in finding out what was the perception of such a method in Singapore. As laws regarding the use of such bacteria-based tools are not spelt out in detail to the public, we wanted to investigate how participants would react to such a medical procedure, what their concerns would be and how we could potentially address those concerns.
We therefore carefully crafted a questionnaire — one that tackled several aspects of introducing a new medical procedure. This survey was distributed to all age groups in Singapore to access and thoroughly investigate the receptivity to bacterial cancer diagnosis and therapy. Questions were asked to participants on how they felt about such procedures in general, and they went on to identify their perceived safety level of this new tool. The most commonly listed medical and environmental risks were also extracted from the survey results.
Examples of responses obtained from the survey administered in Singapore:
Through the administering of this survey in Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia, we have managed to establish these key issues that enable us to further tackle them whilst integrating them with the RIOT System.
