<p>We found that Rhodococcus can degrade intermediate product TPA efficiently. Thus we got in touch with Prof. Aijun Liao with the help of iGEM NJU. He presented us the Rhodococcus jostii RHA1 which helps us a lot. We are grateful to what he has done.<br />

<p>Six representatives of Tianjin University iGEM 2016 Team arrived Peiking University on a rainy afternoon of 19th August and  had a long lovely dicussion meeting with three other teams, Beijing Institute of Technology(Team BIT-China),University of Chinese Academy of Science(Team UCAS) and the ebullient host, Peiking University iGEM team.</br>

On the very beginning of the meeting, each team leader gave a brief introduction on their projects. And team Tianjin's project attracted great interests in the environment problem of PET-degradation. After each team's presentation, we started to share our new ideas and problems we crossed with during the experiment, which was a very helpful and encouraging session where we help each other fix the experimental problems.</br>

In a nutshell, this short trip to Beijing is a win-win collaboration.

It is a high and new technology enterprise invested by Nankai technology enterprise invested by Nankai University, TEDA Venture Investment company and a group of  excellent scientists.  The main products include solid phase synthesis resins, pharmaceutical  absorbent resins, resin for enzyme immobilization, ion-exchange resins and resins for chromato-graphic separation.</br></br>

We met the manager in charge of the production department. He showed us around the workshop and we saw the large-scale facilities in factory production. We realized that it is still a long way to the mass production. Meanwhile, we introduced the iGEM competition and our project this year. He stated that iGEM contributed many novel ideas to the development of synthetic biology and cultivate many talents in this domain. Then he asked about the iGEM homepage for the further knowledge of it.</br></br>

<p>We team Tianjin contacted team Pasteur, Team Pittsburgh, Team Valencia UPV, Team Virginia and Team NTU about the collaboration in July. Then we established and led a survey union with the support of them. We asked each team submit two or three questions about their own project and one question about synthetic biology or iGEM, and integrated the questions to the final version questionnaire. </br>

Then, we posted it on twitter and facebook, many iGEMers participated in it and many iGEM teams reposted it on their homepage. We are very delighted to see their enthusiasm which encourages us a lot!

<p>一路北行，来到<a href="https://www.camarts.cn/archives/tag/%e7%a6%be%e6%9c%a8" title="查看所有与 禾木 相关的照片">禾木</a>乡。这里几乎是中国的最西北角，与哈萨克斯坦、俄罗斯和蒙古等三国接壤。禾木地广人稀，和我去过的许多边境小城很像。穿行而过，不见几户人家，除了几个正在建设的小旅馆外，能零星看到的只是几个小木屋和蒙古包。<br />

We visited Great Biology Pharmaceutical CO.LTD on August 30th in Beichen District, Tianjin. The company focuses mainly on the production of animal medicine. There were many fermentation cylinders in the workshop. Staff in the company introduced the functions and operation methods of the tanks to us and rendered us realize the difference between textbook knowledge and practical production.

Then, the manager, who is also our upperclassman, told us much experience about the sophisticated society, which made us know the temporary conditions of the biochemistry domain.

It was really a nice trip!

Tianjin

Tianjin Nankai Hecheng Science & Technology Co.,Ltd

At 2:00pm on September 18th，we arrived at Tianjin Nankai Hecheng Science & Technology Co.,Ltd. It is a high and new technology enterprise invested by Nankai technology enterprise invested by Nankai University, TEDA Venture Investment company and a group of excellent scientists. The main products include solid phase synthesis resins, pharmaceutical absorbent resins, resin for enzyme immobilization, ion-exchange resins and resins for chromato-graphic separation.

We met the manager in charge of the production department. He showed us around the workshop and we saw the large-scale facilities in factory production. We realized that it is still a long way to the mass production. Meanwhile, we introduced the iGEM competition and our project this year. He stated that iGEM contributed many novel ideas to the development of synthetic biology and cultivate many talents in this domain. Then he asked about the iGEM homepage for the further knowledge of it.

Finally we took a photo together and the manager wished good luck to us.
