We collaborated with the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) about safety in synthetic biology. In particular we discussed safe by design.The concept of safe by design is to make sure the health and safety risks of the product are addressed from the beginning of the design process. We conducted a stakeholder identification on GMO policy in the Netherlands and determined whether safe by design is already applied in the Netherlands.
Based on this stakeholder identification a short animation was made in which GMO policy, safe by design and the link between those two is explained. This animation can be found below
