Discover natural enzymes for anthocyanin degradation

The team work aims to discover natural micro-organisms able to degrade anthocyanin as a substrate for a specific metabolism, or even to use it as a carbon source for living.
This bio-remediation based approach should lead us to

  • The genome sequencing of the selected micro-organisms The identification of enzymes
  • The characterization of the metabolisms
  • Finally, the improvement of the enzyme activity on fabrics thanks to the binding domain team.

More specifically, the project is dived in two main lines of work:
  • The creation of a micro-organisms database that will be tested directly on fabric for a stain degradation thanks to the Assay team.
  • The screen of micro-organsims from soil samples on anthocyanin enriched media for a potential isolation of interesting micro-organisms.
