Attributions

The idea behind this project was inspired by our mentor, Sam Clamons, and based off of previous research conducted by Enoch Young. We would like to thank our mentor for his incredible tutelage, our PIs for always being there to supervise, and our school for supporting our team’s participation in iGEM. We had an incredibly fun and busy summer, and are so grateful to be a part of this year’s competition.

Extra Special Thanks To:

The Richard Murray Lab at Caltech for the loan of micropipettes, tube racks, a microcentrifuge, two thermocyclers, a plate reader, and access to a NanoDrop. We would like to thank Professor Richard Murray, specifically, for his great support of science education and for letting us borrow his grad student. Also, thank you to Reed McCardell and Vipul Singhal for their assistance in measuring DNA concentrations.

Amgen/Pasadena Bioscience Collaborative for the loan of micropipettes, tube racks, a water bath, gel boxes, and donation of SE buffer, LB powder, deionized water, competent cells, and gloves. Particularly Dr. Wendie Johnston and Grace Montgomery for providing education through Amgen BioTech Outreach, being our cheerleaders, and acting as an amazing resource and source of inspiration.

The Community Science Academy at Caltech for loaning us an autoclave, a shaking incubator, a centrifuge, and a vortexer.

Experiment.com for inviting our team to (successfully!) participate in their iGEM fundraising campaign.

Bio Basic Inc. for sequencing support, discounts, and technical advice.

Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT) for free DNA, and discounts.

GenScript USA Inc. for awarding us the Gold Medal iGEM CRISPR/Cas9 Grant.

New England BioLabs Inc. for a free mini-prep kit, Q5® High-Fidelity 2X Master Mix, Quick-Load® Purple 2-Log DNA Ladder.

Alverno Heights Academy for fronting the registration fee, and supporting us emotionally all the way.

Thanks for your support
