Safety in lab

All the experiments of team SCUT_CHINA_B was conducted in cell laboratory B6-330 and laboratory B6-331 and B6-341 in School of Bioscience and Bioengineering, SCUT.

We had ensured that all our activities in laboratory were under the biosafety regulations.

All our laboratory work was conducted under instruction of Dr. Zhong Gworui and Master. Pang Shihui.Though our project was at low risk, each member of the team took part into lab safety training in case of any accidents. Here is trainings we recieved: Laboratory Safety Training, Laboratory Biosafety Training, Biosafety Regulations Training, Clean Bench and Molecular Experiments Training and Aseptic Technique Training for Cell Laboratory.

We were equipped with complete basic protective devices like latex gloves and protective clothing. Most of molecular experiments were conducted on clean bench and all our experiments involves cells were conducted in biosafety cabinets.

Clean benches and biosafety cabinets were sterilized for 30 to 60 minutes with UV lamp before each experiments and cell laboratory were sterilized with UV lamp for at least an hour every day. After experiments we washed hands with hand wash and properly treat gloves taken off.

3. Project Design

Tumor specific promoter

Gene expression in tumor cells under tumor specifc promoter is relative higher than in normal cells, therefore we applied tumor specific promoter as the switch of the project.
