Cleantech Challenge is a competition of technologies aimed at reducing environmental impact, participate in this contest, he gave us a great opportunity to show how it can influence a project as we develop in society. We reached the penultimate stage of the competition and although we did not get first place, the team received very good reviews about their performance, for example, was described as innovative, different, with a great future and great members. It is important to mention that we were the youngest in participating team and also the only one to present a proposal for biotechnology. Winning the competition represent the best opportunity to bring society the use of genetically modified organisms and to advance the search for new, better and cleaner technologies. iGEM teams are leading in the area of Human Practices because they conduct their projects within a social/environmental context, to better understand issues that might influence the design and use of their technologies.

Teams work with students and advisors from the humanities and social sciences to explore topics concerning ethical, legal, social, economic, safety or security issues related to their work. Consideration of these Human Practices is crucial for building safe and sustainable projects that serve the public interest.
