Meeting Minutes
-
The minutes from the previous meeting were unanimously approved.
-
We recapped the upcoming the deadlines.
-
Team banners are due on the 7th of October
-
Team banners are hung around the convention center and serve as an advert to encourage people to come and see our talk/poster/etc.
-
Refer to the specification for last year's (as the current year's ones aren't on the wiki yet) banners.
-
We should keep the banner in line with the wiki theme and general style of our presentation (i.e. fun, serious, etc.). Think of it as advertising you.
-
Should mainly consist of our logo, tagline and nice image(s). Maybe also include the University and sponsors logo.
-
Judging forms due 14th October

The main focus for the next week will be on validation, and improving the last level of the game for Edinburgh. Once this is done, a copy of the simulators should be sent to the advisers.
-
Wiki
-
Lots of feedback was received on the wiki and the team will start to implement the ideas over the following week
-
The video now works and the logo links to the homepage. The homepage has been broken down into motivation, achievements and what next. The different parts have also been out into 5 main categories, and a checklist of medal requirements has been added as a new tab
-
With regards to logos, BMG need to be added and the sponsors should be moved to the third tab.
-
For the human practices section, there should be a tab for build up and background (open days/meetings). There should be another tab for our meeting with PEALS (discussing the idea of thought experiments), and a final tab for the thought experiment.
-
We reflected on our progress with respect to the registry.
-
Another entry is needed for the construct for the hypothetical parts in the registry
-
The graphic for arabinose controlled resistor needs changing.
-
The parts in the registry need to be corrected and we need to confirm which parts are theoretical and which ones have been made (speak to Jake).
-
Both the battery and zinc parts need to be uploaded before our DNA comes back.
-
The bacterial light bulb has been renamed on the registry. In the next meeting, we will need to focus more on why we chose certain parts etc.
-
Any Other Business
