This week we planned to run the plate reader experiments with much more success than we have had previously. We inoculated fresh cultures of all the samples to be tested.
October 4th 2016
Today was the first day of the next attempt at the plate reader experiment this time using a gain value of 1000, but continued with the same protocol described earlier. We first ran the plate at a temperature of 30°C. We inoculated fresh LB culture in order to continue with the experiment tomorrow.

We checked our data that had been collected over night and the results were extremely promising. We had much lower ‘noise’ and the gain value appeared much more appropriate. Our results can be seen here. We again set up the plate reader but this time at a temperature of 37°C. We inoculated fresh LB culture in order to continue with the experiment tomorrow.
