Our team has been working tirelessly this year to bring the compilations of each of our projects together. The team members would not have been able to present to your our research without the guidance that has been provided by our advisors and investigators.

  • Major: Neuroscience. Year: Sophomore. Why I joined IGEM: The opportunities for research are endless and incredibly diverse! It is hard to believe all of the things that engineered bacteria are capable of. Hobbies: I’m on the UT fencing team and I play clarinet in the UT Symphony Band. Favorite song: I Constantly Thank God For Esteban- Panic at the Disco. Pizza: Cheese. As much as possible.

    I decided to join the iGEM team due to its combining microbiology and synthetic biology. Microbiology has been my favorite course here at UT and synthetic biology has been an interest of mine since the first time I saw the famous picture of the glowing pig in my textbook. I was excited for the possibilities that the iGEM team could hold for me.

    Why you decided to join the iGem team: I think that cellular engineering is the key to our remediation of the environment. I'm incredibly interested in this field and thought it was too good to be true that there was a team at UT devoted to it. I applied and here I am now, gaining invaluable experience.

    your hobbies outside of lab: I sometimes create sculptures out of wire, I like to be outside, I like playing with my dog, and I religiously go to Disney World whenever I can.

    iGEM Team: I decided to join the iGEM team because I was very interested in the research the lab was doing, and thought it would be nice to compete against other teams.

    Hobbies outside of lab: Outside of lab I enjoy running and training for long distance races. Besides running I really like sleeping or napping in my hammock.
