Mobile Application

As said in the Human Practices, we thought that developing a mobile application was a good way to make people know more about our project, and to make them more trustful towards GMOs in general, as video games are used by a lot of people. People are also more likely to learn something through video game mechanics : that’s why we tried to make our game as accurate as possible on a scientific level, while still being fun. We couldn’t take everything in account, but as a example there is no dissemination in our game, nor that it is said that our bacteria actually « clean » the air. We stick to the way our project works so people can understand how the real-life Quantifly works.

Therefore, the game consists in a 2D horizontal scroller : the player has to go control the Quantifly drone through various levels (cities), and to collect pollutants molecules on the way. Once enough pollutants are collected, the sample is analyzed and enters « bioluminescence mode ».

The drone has a battery life that will slowly decrease over time. When the drone hits an obstacle, the battery drops suddenly. However, batteries can be picked up and will refill the drone’s battery life.

Lastly, each tube collected will serve as a currency : a series of areas that you can map using your tubes will unlock upgrades for the drone, such as increased speed or battery life.
