Revision as of 19:08, 9 September 2016
Final Safety Forms Due
Due next week, September 16th!
All iGEM teams must complete a final safety form. The Final Safety Form is a more comprehensive safety review of your project. We encourage students, instead of instructors, to complete this form. However, you will need an Instructor or PI to sign and submit this form. If you have any questions or issues, please email safety AT igem . org.
Please see the Safety Hub for information and a link to the Final Safety Form!
Team Rosters Due
Due tomorrow, September 9th!
Completing the team roster is important because all of the team members listed on the rosters will receive participation certificates. We want everyone that participated on the team to receive this recognition. Completing your team roster is also important because it determines whether your team is in the undergraduate or overgraduate section (high school teams are automatically placed into the high school section).
Please see the Registration Handbook for information on how to manage your team roster.
Giant Jamboree Accommodations: Sheraton Hotel
Attention all iGEM Teams: The Sheraton Hotel room block is sold out.

To register, please see Giant Jamboree Registration.
We look forward to seeing you there!

iGEM Mentorship Program
Mentee and Mentor Application deadline: May 7, 2016We are expanding last year's program to help iGEM teams learn how the iGEM competition works and iGEM alumni refine communication, leadership, and mentoring skills. For more on the program or to apply to be a mentor or mentor visit our Mentorship page .
Need help adding a secondary PI?
If you are having trouble adding a secondary PI, see the instructions in the Registration Handbook.
Why do teams need to have two PIs?
All iGEM teams must have two PIs to participate in iGEM. Throughout years of running the competition, we have found that in general teams with at least two PIs have a better iGEM experience, learn more, and succeed even more than on their own.
Teams with only one PI often find that they don't get adequate support throughout the season. While iGEM is a student driven competition, PIs are important for providing guidance, having funding connections, dealing with university bureaucracy and regulations, and more.
Also, often a PI goes away for a portion of the summer leaving the team without any PI guidance for part of the season.
Don't underestimate the value of your PIs!
For more details on team roles, see the Requirements and Team Roles pages.
Funding Opportunity - Application deadline May 1st, 2016l
Receive up to $5,000 for your CRISPR –related iGEM projects and 20% off Gene Synthesis and Cloning. Find out how.
